Principal Data Engineer (Onsite) - Cotality

Lead enterprise data architecture and pipeline development for Cotality’s property intelligence and real estate ecosystem. Build scalable cloud data capabilities and guide technical delivery across the organization.

Description

  • Architect and deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions
  • Convert business processes and requirements into robust technical designs
  • Define and maintain solution architectures, technical specifications, and requirements
  • Provide technical direction to engineering and support teams
  • Create and present architecture and design materials for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Investigate challenges, evaluate downstream effects, and guide solution decisions through research, validation, and stakeholder alignment
  • Apply relevant industry and domain practices while advising on architecture
  • Assess how new solutions affect existing architecture and maintain alignment with enterprise standards and governance
  • Support technology initiatives spanning the enterprise
  • Help resolve high-priority technical issues
  • Take part in team ceremonies, report delivery status, and support governance and execution activities
  • Act as the lead engineer developing reusable, enterprise-grade data capabilities for Cotality

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 7 years of IT experience
  • Advanced experience with data architecture, disparate-source integration and analysis, and data quality improvement
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data modeling methods
  • Strong command of database, data warehouse, and data mart design and development across the full lifecycle
  • Demonstrated enterprise data architecture experience covering governance, standards, and strategy
  • Track record of solving complex data architecture problems across large organizations
  • Expertise designing data management solutions that support technology roadmaps and evolving industry practices
  • Proficiency with data modeling tools and SQL and NoSQL technologies
  • Practical experience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform
  • Strong Python and PySpark programming abilities
  • Experience using AI development frameworks and lifecycle methods, including BMAD and Spec Kit
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, and Elasticsearch
  • Working knowledge of graph databases such as Neo4j and Google Spanner
  • Experience with Google Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, and Apache Airflow
  • Ability to produce detailed technical designs and specifications
  • Ability to coach and support engineering teams
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Experience in real estate, mortgage, or insurance is highly desirable
