Liability Claims Associate – Hybrid, Frisco

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Associate to adjudicate lower-level liability claims in a hybrid Frisco role. The position focuses on compensability, benefits, reserves, documentation, and accurate claim processing.

Description

  • Review reported lower-level liability claims and determine the benefits payable.
  • Adjudicate claims consistently with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Manage lower-level liability and physical damage claims under close supervision.
  • Assist claims representatives, examiners, and leads with larger or more complex claims.
  • Process general liability claims, including determinations of compensability and benefits.
  • Verify reserve accuracy and submit required documentation to state agencies.
  • Communicate claim actions and processing updates with claimants, clients, and appropriate medical contacts.
  • Maintain complete claim files and accurate claims coding.
  • Process routine payments, prescriptions, and status reports for lifetime or defined-period medical claims.
  • Build and maintain professional client relationships.
  • Contribute to the organization’s quality programs.
  • Complete other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.
  • At least one year of general office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Experience in the claims industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to think clearly and conceptually.
  • Strong judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical, and discretionary skills.
  • Ability to manage work-related stress.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Computer keyboarding proficiency.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to hear, see, and communicate verbally.
