K-12 Language and Literacy Sales Specialist, Central Texas (Remote)

Grow Vista Higher Learning’s K-12 language and literacy business across Central Texas. The role focuses on adoptions, account expansion, consultative sales, presentations, and relationships with educators and school administrators.

Description

  • Meet sales targets by securing new adoptions and expanding existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling
  • Build strong knowledge of VHL products, the assigned territory, market conditions, and customer priorities
  • Apply consultative selling and active listening to identify opportunities and match solutions to customer needs
  • Plan and manage the territory, create account penetration strategies, and apply effective selling methods
  • Develop and deliver tailored sales and training presentations for print and digital programs
  • Build lasting relationships with educators, administrators, existing customers, and prospective customers
  • Take part in national sales meetings, networking functions, conferences, and on-site team meetings
  • Find and pursue new business opportunities while addressing customer concerns
  • Coordinate with Sales, Development, Marketing, and other internal teams
  • Attend networking and sponsorship events to expand contacts and strengthen brand awareness

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required
  • At least one year of consultative sales, account management, or comparable business development experience with a proven record of success
  • Background in publishing, educational technology, language learning, or a related industry
  • Strong comfort with technology and experience presenting or demonstrating solutions to varied audiences in person and online
  • Outstanding written, verbal, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities, with the flexibility to adjust communication to different situations and audiences
  • Experience using a CRM to oversee sales activities and customer accounts
  • Strong prospecting, consultative selling, negotiation, territory planning, and active-listening capabilities
  • Excellent organization, detail management, time management, and follow-through
  • Self-directed, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and collaborative approach
  • Experience planning and carrying out business travel strategically, including scheduling appointments
  • Strong customer-service mindset and commercial awareness
  • Ability to travel up to 60% throughout Central Texas and occasionally elsewhere in the region without restriction
  • Salesforce.com experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with territory-specific school district and purchasing procedures is preferred
  • Familiarity with VHL products and the VHL supersite is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Spanish is preferred
  • An advanced degree is preferred
  • Must live in San Antonio or Austin, Texas, and be able to travel throughout the territory without restriction
  • Relocation is not available
