Junior Business Data Analyst – Facilities & Operations (Hybrid, Oregon)

Analyze facilities and operational data for Oregon Health & Science University, Oregon’s public academic health center. Build dashboards, reports, surveys, and recommendations that support campus decision-making.

Description

  • Collect, organize, validate, and reconcile complex facilities and operational data from internal and external sources.
  • Evaluate operational, workload, financial, and performance data to uncover trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Use basic statistical techniques for trend estimation, outcome measurement, forecasting, and comparative analysis.
  • Design, administer, and manage customer surveys, including statistically valid sampling and findings synthesis.
  • Create and maintain routine and ad hoc reports, dashboards, tables, charts, and visual summaries.
  • Extract, transform, and tabulate data with spreadsheets, databases, statistical software, and reporting tools.
  • Interpret analytical results and produce narrative summaries, written reports, and business analysis sections.
  • Convert complex findings into leadership briefings, customer-facing summaries, and operational reports.
  • Advise Facilities leaders and managers through consultation and analytical support.
  • Develop data-informed recommendations for planning, prioritization, staffing, workflow efficiency, and service improvements.
  • Contribute to or facilitate cross-functional workgroups and committees.
  • Act as a subject matter resource for Facilities data definitions, metrics, reporting tools, and analytical methods.
  • Support initiatives involving data, reporting, and system enhancements.
  • Partner with information systems staff to develop or improve data and reporting solutions.
  • Review reports prepared by junior analysts or support staff for accuracy and completeness.
  • Train and guide others on analytics tools, survey practices, reporting procedures, and data interpretation.
  • Help standardize data practices and continuously improve reporting workflows.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business plus six months of qualifying experience in analytics, databases, spreadsheets, finance, technical writing, quantitative analysis, or statistical principles; or
  • An associate’s degree in business plus two years of qualifying experience; or
  • Four years of qualifying experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data; preparing reports and written analysis; and using spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to resolve advanced customer service issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience supporting diverse groups with conflicting and urgent needs while maintaining positive campus-wide working relationships.
  • Ability to operate multi-line phones and a two-way radio system.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Oracle, Project time entry, and Data Warehouse/Discoverer.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance requirements for structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, elevator, sheet metal, and grounds systems.
