Description

  • Create and maintain firmware for wearable sensing devices
  • Develop dependable device-to-cloud communication and streaming for synchronized vision and tactile data
  • Design and operate AWS infrastructure for large-scale multimodal data collection, storage, and processing
  • Build APIs, ingestion services, and Python pipelines for reliable, high-throughput data processing
  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain device fleets and data-capture systems at real-world collection sites
  • Convert field problems into practical engineering improvements
  • Diagnose issues across the complete stack, from device firmware through cloud deployment
  • Partner with hardware, machine learning, and data teams to establish system requirements
  • Support testing, documentation, and ongoing improvements to the data collection infrastructure
  • Travel to collection sites occasionally as required

Requirements

  • At least four years of engineering experience spanning embedded systems and cloud infrastructure
  • Strong embedded and firmware experience with C or C++, RTOS, microcontrollers, real-time systems, sensor integration, and low-level programming
  • Practical AWS experience with EC2, S3, Lambda, IoT Core, and reliable high-throughput data pipelines
  • Strong software engineering ability in Python or a similar language, including APIs, streaming services, and hardware-to-cloud integration
  • Working knowledge of networking, security practices, performance optimization, monitoring, and logging
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across hardware, firmware, and cloud layers
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Fluent English is required
  • Korean or Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage
  • Experience with robotics, tactile or force sensing, wearables, or IoT devices is desirable
  • Experience developing real-world data collection systems is desirable
  • Exposure to machine learning data pipelines or datasets for robot learning is desirable
  • Experience deploying and supporting hardware in the field is desirable
