Description

  • Develop and improve high-performance mobile applications
  • Build stable products that run smoothly
  • Design, architect, and implement thoroughly tested Objective-C software for Snapchat camera experiences
  • Define, develop, and launch new product features
  • Assess technical tradeoffs and their implications
  • Partner with Design on user interface and infrastructure practices
  • Review code to uphold quality standards
  • Apply AI tools and rapid engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while preserving correctness, security, and production readiness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 6 years of post-bachelor’s software development experience; alternatively, a technical master’s degree with 5+ years of post-graduate experience or a relevant PhD with 2+ years of post-graduate experience
  • Professional experience developing iOS applications
  • Strong understanding of the Objective-C runtime and underlying system processes
  • Knowledge of operating system internals, compilers, and optimization for low-power mobile systems
  • Proficiency in iOS multithreading and performance optimization
  • Solid computer science foundations, including algorithms and data structures
  • Knowledge of software design patterns and iOS development best practices
  • Ability to use AI tools effectively and audit generated code for architectural integrity, performance, and security
  • Adaptability when learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools
  • Preferred: Experience with Objective-C and iOS
  • Preferred: Experience with Swift
  • Preferred: Experience with C or C++
  • Preferred: Experience with OpenGL or Metal
