Field Solutions Engineer, Shield AI – Amsterdam Hybrid

Shield AI is seeking a Field Solutions Engineer to support presales for its autonomous V-BAT defense aircraft. The role leads European technical capture, proposals, customer demonstrations, and alignment between customer needs and product capabilities.

Description

  • Lead technical capture for European opportunities involving the V-BAT aircraft and Shield AI’s broader product portfolio
  • Manage customer engagements, presales engineering support, proposal input, and solution development
  • Create and implement technical strategies for compliant, persuasive, high-quality proposals
  • Act as the primary technical lead for European go-to-market engagements
  • Partner with business development, engineering, operations, program management, product management, and BD operations
  • Own technical content for proposals, RFIs, white papers, and capability briefs
  • Advise business development and account executives as a subject-matter expert on Shield AI products
  • Coordinate between business development and engineering to align customer needs with capabilities, schedules, and roadmaps
  • Keep technical documentation, specifications, FAQs, capability briefs, and sales materials current
  • Train and mentor business development teams on Shield AI’s technical solutions
  • Contribute to competitive analysis and market intelligence efforts
  • Support on-site customer demonstrations as a V-BAT subject-matter expert
  • Improve business development processes and technical capture methods
  • Evaluate regional operating and environmental conditions to develop white papers and briefs that inform the product roadmap

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in technical presales, business development, or solutions engineering, ideally within defense, aerospace, AI technology, or U.S. federal and international government environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience working with U.S. federal or international government requirements
  • Technical expertise in aircraft, UAS, multispectral sensors, AI, autonomy, and defense systems
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities
  • Strong technical writing skills, including experience producing RFIs, abstracts, and quad charts
  • Demonstrated leadership in a professional or extracurricular setting
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions
  • Ability to perform in a fast-moving, unconventional defense-contractor environment
