Experienced Spanish Interpreter (Latin America, Remote)
Provide confidential English-Spanish interpretation for medical and social-service clients from a remote role in Latin America. Begin with over-the-phone assignments, with a pathway to video interpretation roles.
Description
- Interpret accurately and consecutively, primarily in medical settings
- Interpret for social service, customer care, and financial clients
- Remain impartial and protect confidential information
- Begin with over-the-phone interpretation (OPI), with a pathway to video remote interpretation (VRI)
- Meet the monthly minimum for interpreted minutes
- Facilitate communication in healthcare, legal, financial, customer service, and social service settings
Requirements
- At least 6–12 months of remote medical interpretation experience
- C1-level English proficiency, demonstrated through EF SET 4-Skill, TOEFL, or CAE
- Recent ALTA (9+) or LanguageStat/PICSI (75%–80%+) certification preferred; certification must have been issued within the past 12 months
- Strong command of medical and customer service terminology
- HIPAA and FWA certification, or willingness to obtain them
- Pass a background check
- Use a wired Ethernet connection; Wi-Fi is not accepted
- Use a USB noise-canceling headset
- Have Windows 10 or later with at least 4 GB of RAM
- Have access to a private, quiet workspace
- Be able to work as an English-Spanish interpreter in Latin America
