Collections Operations Engineer – AFP Project (Hybrid, Chile)

Lead AFP collections operations for a new Chilean pension administrator. Translate regulatory and debt-management processes into reliable software in close partnership with engineering.

Description

  • Oversee collections processes from launch, operating the systems directly
  • Review DNP records daily, investigate presumed arrears, generate DNPA records, and manage pre-judicial and judicial collections through SUCC
  • Regularize payments throughout the debt lifecycle
  • Prepare regulatory reports and supporting records
  • Serve as the internal collections subject-matter expert and contribute knowledge of the complete debt lifecycle
  • Document operational workflows, edge cases, and business rules for the engineering team
  • Partner with technology teams to design, validate, and test systems supporting AFP operations
  • Monitor regulatory changes, recommend improvements and automation, prioritize initiatives, and identify operational risks
  • Support the definition of functional tests and acceptance criteria
  • Participate in industry forums with SUCC, other AFPs, and PreviRed, and support operational interactions with the Superintendency of Pensions

Requirements

  • At least three years of hands-on experience in AFP collections operations in Chile
  • Practical knowledge of debt identification, including DNP control, presumed-arrears clarification, and DNPA generation
  • Practical knowledge of pre-judicial and judicial collections, including counterparties, employer notification channels, regulatory deadlines, adjustment calculations, interest and surcharges, and debt regularization
  • Daily experience using pension-management systems used by Chilean AFPs
  • Demonstrated ability to map and document complex processes with exceptional clarity, organization, and structure
  • Strong affinity for technology and willingness to work closely with software engineering teams
  • Experience with AFP.net by Sonda, PreviRed Collections Management Services, SUCC, or other core systems used in the pension industry is desirable
  • Current knowledge of Chilean regulations, including DL 3.500, Law 21.735, and the Superintendency of Pensions compendium and circulars, is desirable
  • Previous participation in data migration projects, new-module implementations, or operational-system improvements at an AFP is desirable
  • Familiarity with Agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban, or previous experience working on software development teams, is desirable
