Collections Coordinator (Toronto Hybrid)

Manage recoveries, payments, refunds, reconciliations, and related records for Tarion, Ontario’s new home warranty organization. Support the Finance collections function through Workday Financial, reporting, and administrative coordination.

Description

  • Record all collection activity in Workday Financial and apply the correct account status codes
  • Post recoveries, credit card payments, security drawdowns, and write-offs to the appropriate Workday Financial accounts
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Collections team
  • Prepare collection notices, reports, trace requests, litigation requests, and proofs of claim after receiving bankruptcy notices
  • Complete monthly accounts receivable reconciliations and journal entries
  • Support the Contact Centre in processing homeowner fee refunds
  • Investigate collection-system issues and create and maintain related IT helpdesk tickets
  • Process daily cheque deposits
  • Oversee post-dated cheques and investigate discrepancies
  • Report to the Manager, Finance

Requirements

  • Community college diploma, certificate, or equivalent training in administration or finance
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounts receivable, month-end reconciliation, and collections
  • Two to three years of administrative experience, preferably in a Finance department
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly while managing competing priorities
  • Ability to contribute effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Remote work must be performed from a home office located within Ontario
