Associate General Counsel II, Technology Transactions (Hybrid)

Advise TIAA on technology transactions and related legal risk, contracts, regulatory matters, and external counsel coordination. Support a retirement and asset-management company across complex commercial and technology-related legal issues.

Description

  • Safeguard the organization’s interests in contract negotiations, settlements, and litigation
  • Identify, assess, and resolve legal-risk issues
  • Research and interpret proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations
  • Counsel management on legal and regulatory changes affecting the company
  • Coordinate with external counsel on complex legal matters
  • Deliver legal guidance and business-oriented advice across corporate law, real estate, tax, litigation, transactions and antitrust, compliance, intellectual property, employment and labor, governance, and ethics

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree required
  • At least five years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Substantial experience handling technology transactions
  • Sound judgment on legal and commercial matters in technology contracting
  • Curiosity and confidence to understand technology and its intended use, then translate that understanding into effective contracts
  • Experience with AI, data, digital products, or other emerging technologies is a plus
  • Experience in financial services or another regulated industry is a plus
  • Ability to perform sedentary work
