Senior Airworthiness Software Certification Engineer at Boeing
Lead software airworthiness certification for Boeing military aircraft programs under EMAR, DO-178, MIL-HDBK-516C, and FAA standards. Partner with regulators, certification teams, and program leaders on complex compliance initiatives.

- Oversee airworthiness activities for an active domestic or international military aircraft program
- Support audits conducted by international airworthiness authorities
- Track program costs and schedules while clarifying certification issues for program owners
- Create software certification strategies aligned with EMAR 21, DO-178, MIL-HDBK-516C Section 15, and applicable regulatory standards
- Coach DO-178 certification verification experts and specialists in related disciplines
- Contribute to industry standards development, benchmarking, and related initiatives
- Lead regulator engagement and collaboration on complex programs and certification approaches
- Advise the delegated approval organization on technical support, training, tools, and resources
- Review and provide guidance on compliance reports and certification documentation
- Lead and recommend global regulatory advocacy approaches, training, tools, and methods
- Deliver advanced enterprise-wide technical guidance for aerospace regulatory compliance programs and projects
- Present regular progress updates and performance metrics to executive leadership
- Travel up to 25% in support of multiple programs
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology including manufacturing technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a directly related non-U.S. equivalent qualification
- Level 4 requires six years of experience with software development processes including SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and continuous integration in a program management setting
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. Government requirements include U.S. citizenship
- Level 5 requires at least 10 years of experience with software development processes including SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and continuous integration in a program management setting
- Experience implementing processes and standards that meet airplane software certification or FAA certification requirements
- Experience with software certification standards and processes such as DO-178C or an equivalent
- Experience supporting internal software certification activities
- Experience with aircraft certification involving FAA, MIL-HDBK-516, and EMAR requirements
- U.S. Person status required for export control compliance
- Employer will not sponsor employment visas; candidates must be able to obtain an interim and final U.S. Secret Clearance after starting
