Principal Hardware Design Engineer - Bangalore, India (Hybrid)

Lead high-performance hardware architecture, design, validation, and production support at F5. Mentor engineers and guide complex electronic systems from concept through manufacturing.

Tavsif

  • Lead system-level hardware architecture, functional specifications, and requirements for new products
  • Drive manufacturability, testability, and reliability throughout product development
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve current products and inform future designs
  • Serve as a technical authority for complex assignments, independently selecting appropriate methods and procedures
  • Mentor hardware engineers, provide technical direction, and review work for quality and efficiency
  • Present technical information internally and externally while sharing knowledge across the Hardware Development Team
  • Create and maintain delivery schedules for documentation and testing milestones
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to validate designs and resolve issues
  • Develop and implement CPLD designs in Verilog HDL when required
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for legacy products and help train manufacturing teams on new designs
  • Participate in design reviews and advance hardware design processes and standards through continuous improvement
  • Follow F5’s Business Code of Ethics and promptly report suspected violations of company policies

Talablar

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline
  • At least 10 years of experience designing electrical hardware for high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal systems
  • Ability to follow F5’s internal processes and requirements
  • Advanced board- and system-level troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal design
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and hardware design tools such as Cadence, Altium, or Mentor Graphics
  • Proficiency in Verilog HDL programming for CPLD development
  • Extensive Intel or AMD x86 motherboard design experience
  • Extensive experience with high-speed serial interfaces, including DDR4/5, USB 2/3, PCIe Gen5, and 100G+ Ethernet SerDes
  • Extensive electrical design experience for network switches
  • Extensive electrical design experience with Altera and Xilinx FPGAs
  • Extensive experience designing and validating multi-phase CPU VR power supplies
  • Extensive knowledge of memory and storage technologies, including NAND/NOR, SRAM, DRAM, HBM, SATA, and NVMe
  • Extensive experience modeling, simulating, and validating signal integrity
  • Extensive experience modeling, simulating, and validating power integrity
  • Extensive system integration experience involving chassis and backplane designs
  • Expertise with SI simulation tools such as HyperLynx SI/PI, HSPICE, Ansys HFSS, Agilent ADS, or Sisoft QCD
  • Familiarity with low-level firmware and software components, processes, and standards, including BIOS, BMC, Secure Boot, IPMI, Redfish, authentication, and encryption
  • Familiarity with applicable industry standards and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with UL, CE, FCC, and reliability testing is preferred
  • A master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is desirable
