AI Engineer 5, Agentic AI and Generative AI Platform Services at Capital One
Build scalable agentic and generative AI platforms for Capital One’s banking systems. Focus on foundation models, inference, orchestration, governance, and production AI infrastructure.
Tavsif
- Collaborate with engineering, research, technical program, and product teams to deliver AI-powered products
- Create, test, deploy, and maintain AI components spanning foundation-model training, LLM inference, agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability
- Use open-source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, vector databases, and PyTorch
- Develop foundation-model optimization methods that improve scalability, cost efficiency, latency, and throughput in large-scale production systems
- Help define the technical direction and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems
- Build and optimize orchestration pipelines that combine LLMs, vector search, and domain-specific models
- Lead cost and performance governance reviews covering GPU utilization, model throughput, and inference efficiency
- Chair team design councils or review boards to promote technical consistency and adherence to AI engineering standards
- Coach Principal- and Manager-level AI engineers while advancing the organization’s technical capabilities
Talablar
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field with at least 6 years of AI or machine-learning development experience, or a relevant master’s degree with at least 4 years of experience
- At least 6 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java
- Preferred experience leading AI-system development while balancing cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy
- Preferred 7 years of experience deploying scalable, responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms
- Preferred experience designing, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems
- Preferred experience developing AI and machine-learning algorithms with Python, C++, C#, Java, CUDA, or Golang
- Preferred experience optimizing training and inference software for hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost
- Preferred experience building agentic AI systems and workflows
- Preferred experience architecting and integrating heterogeneous AI systems into unified production pipelines
- Preferred experience establishing and enforcing ethical AI deployment standards
- Ability to balance model performance and operating cost through dynamic inference strategies and model compression
- Experience right-sizing models, instance quantities, and hardware configurations is preferred
- Strong grounding in engineering and mathematics
- Ability to interpret scientific publications and apply emerging techniques in production
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
