Opis

  • Define and develop thermal control systems for lunar landers
  • Contribute to thermal hardware development for Blue Moon landers and related products
  • Guide thermal components from concept through development, testing, and integration
  • Support in-house and external development of thermal components
  • Contribute to thermal hardware for successive generations of lunar landers
  • Coordinate with the vehicle thermal team’s thermal analysis group
  • Apply subsystem specifications, mission environments, and design and construction standards
  • Prepare component specifications, test plans, execution records, and test reports
  • Carry out occasional thermal analysis
  • Create short- and long-term development plans
  • Decide whether thermal components should be made in-house or purchased
  • Coordinate with supply chain to procure flight hardware
  • Work directly with NASA and National Team Partners on the HLS Sustaining Lunar Development program

Zahteve

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent spacecraft design industry experience
  • 3–5 years of relevant thermal engineering experience
  • Understanding of thermal fundamentals
  • Experience building and testing hardware
  • Understanding of aerospace hardware verification and validation
  • Ability to build trust and maintain positive, professional working relationships
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee
  • Must pass Blue Origin’s standard background check
  • Enthusiasm for Blue Origin’s mission and vision
  • Preferred: Master’s or PhD in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Preferred: 8 years of relevant aerospace experience
  • Familiarity with common passive spacecraft thermal hardware
  • Strong knowledge of passive thermal control hardware, including conventional and cryogenic multilayer insulation, temperature sensors, and patch heaters
  • Experience addressing a range of thermal problems
  • Experience managing vendor technical work
  • Familiarity with Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint, including model validation and test correlation
