Senior Engineering Manager, Scalable Machine Learning — Remote US
Lead Latitude AI’s scalable machine-learning infrastructure supporting Ford’s autonomy roadmap. Set cross-functional strategy across data generation, orchestration, distributed training, and MLOps.
Descriere
- Lead and coach software engineers building scalable machine-learning infrastructure.
- Own the multi-quarter technical strategy for data generation, orchestration, and distributed training.
- Represent the Scalable ML team in company-wide planning and architectural decisions.
- Balance cross-team needs involving GPU scheduling and quotas, job orchestration, storage, and compute costs.
- Advance MLOps capabilities spanning model artifact management, experiment tracking, and automated deployment and testing.
- Develop technical partnerships with the ML Platform, Jobs Platform, Cloud Platform, and HPC teams.
- Uphold reliability standards by ensuring cross-team incidents are investigated, resolved, and prevented.
- Manage the Scalable ML team while connecting engineering organizations through technical leadership.
Cerințe
- Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of experience, or a master’s degree plus 8 years of experience, in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of software development experience, including 5 or more years in a Staff, Principal, or senior technical leadership position.
- Demonstrated success defining technical strategy and direction across multiple teams or organizations.
- Deep experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure for machine learning, including GPU scheduling and quotas, job orchestration, and multi-tenant clusters.
- Strong expertise developing and optimizing machine-learning data pipelines for data generation, data management, and distributed training.
- Advanced Python skills for creating high-performance, production-quality software.
- Ability to influence and align peer teams and leaders without direct reporting authority.
- History of delivering complex, multi-organization software initiatives from concept through production with a focus on scalability, reliability, and alignment.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.
