Director, Global Vaccine Policy and Communications at MSD

Lead global vaccine policy engagement with Gavi, UNICEF, the Gates Foundation, and WHO. Advise MSD’s commercial and public policy strategies across international teams.

  • Build and deliver engagement strategies with global public health organizations focused on vaccines and infectious diseases, including Gavi, UNICEF, the Gates Foundation, and WHO.
  • Coordinate company contributions to position papers, recommendations, and other public policy materials.
  • Use policy and political analysis to inform commercial strategies and cross-functional plans.
  • Represent Global Vaccine & Infectious Diseases Policy in multilateral discussions and maintain supporting materials and trackers.
  • Track and interpret policy developments, providing briefings on the activities and priorities of global organizations.
  • Create briefing documents and presentations for senior leadership meetings with policymakers, public health experts, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and share internal and external messaging about important developments involving global policy organizations.
  • Lead engagement with trade associations through working groups and committees.
  • Support quarterly and annual planning and performance evaluation for the Global Public Policy function.
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration across local, regional, and global teams.
  • Evaluate implications for headquarters and geographic markets, including relevant geopolitical developments.
  • Represent the company on industry association committees, in multilateral engagements, and at external forums.
  • Report to the Executive Director, Global Public Health Organizations for Vaccines and Infectious Diseases.

Prasības

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public policy, public health, public administration, political science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in global vaccine and infectious diseases public policy, including effective engagement with global public health organizations or direct sector experience.
  • Experience providing strategic thought leadership and managing issues with global institutions, think tanks, and advocacy organizations to help shape policy.
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse matrixed teams, influence without formal authority, and build alignment around shared objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing executive briefings and presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leaders and high-level external stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate complex policy, regulatory, and legislative settings, apply strategic thinking, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong project management capability, including managing competing priorities in time-sensitive settings.
  • Experience working collaboratively across culturally diverse teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
