Senior AI Customer Engineer
Guide startups and digital-native businesses as they build AI applications on Cloudflare’s developer platform. Lead technical discovery, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and developer-focused sales engagements.

- Explore customer needs and technical use cases across cloud and developer-led businesses.
- Join sales discovery early, assess opportunities, and work alongside customer teams in Slack and collaborative sessions.
- Connect customers’ product development and AI plans to Cloudflare’s platform.
- Build technical partnerships with engineers, developers, founders, and CTOs.
- Prepare and present relevant technical materials, demonstrations, and architecture guidance.
- Run product demonstrations and proof-of-concept or build engagements for prospective and existing customers.
- Promote the Cloudflare Developer Platform and support customers building on it.
- Produce reference architectures, demos, blog posts, and other technical resources for the professional community.
- Represent Cloudflare at developer, community, technology, and industry gatherings.
- Use knowledge of customer industries to recommend sound technical practices.
- Work with sales teams from the outset to shape technical sales and adoption plans.

- In-depth knowledge of Cloudflare’s Developer Platform, including Workers, Durable Objects, Workers AI, R2, KV, D1, Vectorize, Queues, and Pages.
- Familiarity with AI and generative AI application patterns, edge inference, retrieval-augmented generation, and vector databases.
- Knowledge of HTTP, reverse and forward proxies, and serverless application development.
- Knowledge of internet security technologies such as DDoS mitigation, firewalls, TLS, VPN, and DLP.
- Knowledge of networking technologies such as TCP, UDP, DNS, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, GRE, SD-WAN, MPLS, and global traffic management.
- Familiarity with ZTNA and SASE, identity management, and authentication.
- Knowledge of AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or other cloud computing platforms.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, or Bash.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as FedRAMP, GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO/IEC standards.
- An undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related area is mentioned, but is explicitly not a strict requirement.
- Able to explain technical ideas to systems engineers, front-end developers, technical founders, and C-suite stakeholders.
