VP, Digital Platform Commercialization Leader

Synchrony is seeking a senior leader to shape commercialization strategy for a digital financial-services platform. The role covers client targeting, product positioning, adoption planning, and cross-functional growth execution.

Description

  • Own the platform’s multi-year commercial strategy and keep it current
  • Work with Growth to define ideal clients, client archetypes, buying signals, priority use cases, and qualification standards
  • Build commercialization strategies and playbooks tailored to clients and industries
  • Analyze market, competitive, client, and portfolio intelligence to uncover whitespace and adoption obstacles
  • Convert commercial strategy into a prioritized plan for product adoption, marketing enablement, sales and client activation, and measurement
  • Coordinate planning across Platform, Product, Growth, Sales and Client teams, Industry leaders, Marketing, Finance, and Analytics
  • Set priorities for the Product Strategist and Marketing Strategist while coaching and developing the team
  • Prepare business cases and executive recommendations covering investment, resource allocation, and go-to-market changes
  • Create governance practices and operating cadences for reviewing results and refining strategy
  • Counsel platform leadership on growth opportunities, commercialization choices, and portfolio tradeoffs
  • Lead client presentations and shape commercial enablement content, messaging, and external communications
  • Produce commercial strategy, positioning, value proposition architecture, product sequencing, roadmaps, scorecards, and executive decision materials
  • Increase qualified pipeline, product penetration, adoption, and revenue growth
  • Handle additional duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, strategy, finance, economics, or a related discipline; alternatively, a high school diploma or GED plus 15 years of relevant experience
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial strategy, growth strategy, product commercialization, management consulting, go-to-market, or consumer marketing
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders without relying only on formal authority
  • Experience managing people, setting clear direction, and developing high-performing strategic professionals
  • Experience managing client relationships and presenting or selling complex ideas or programs
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, including market sizing, segmentation, business-case creation, prioritization, and performance measurement
  • Background in enterprise and portfolio strategy
  • Sound commercial judgment and ability to prioritize opportunities
  • Expertise in client and industry segmentation
  • Strong executive communication and influencing skills
  • Cross-functional leadership and operating-model design experience
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and disciplined decision-making
  • Experience leading, coaching, and holding talent accountable
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Willingness to complete a drug test, background investigation, and fingerprinting during onboarding
  • Ability to meet the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
  • Authorization to work legally in the United States
