Transportation Claims Adjuster (Remote, United States)

Manage bodily injury, liability, and physical damage claims for Charger Logistics, an asset-based freight carrier. Lead investigations, settlements, documentation, vendor coordination, and claims compliance.

Description

  • Evaluate and adjudicate complex claims, including litigated matters, in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the investigation, assessment, and resolution of bodily injury claims involving company vehicles or drivers.
  • Prepare accurate file summaries for internal reporting, large-loss evaluations, and reinsurance matters.
  • Handle bodily injury claims according to industry best practices and company policies.
  • Adjust physical damage claims, including previously unreported damage.
  • Negotiate with insurers, claimants, and third-party claimant representatives after receiving critical information.
  • Discuss accidents, damage, preventability, and related procedures with commercial vehicle operators.
  • Maintain files for litigation, subrogation, physical damage, liability, and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Report claims and accidents as required.
  • Provide on-call coverage nights and weekends for serious accidents and other assigned duties.
  • Select and manage towing companies, body shops, garages, and parking or storage yards to establish accurate settlement costs.
  • Record and update repair payments.
  • Order police reports, establish new claim files, and confirm losses with the insurer and broker.
  • Coordinate relevant matters with the Claims, Safety and Compliance teams, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in insurance or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in trucking, claims, or safety and compliance is preferred.
  • Experience handling commercial lines and transportation liability claims.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong multitasking, time-management, customer-service, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to remain composed during crisis situations.
