Description

  • Design, build, document, test, and debug applications and systems that implement logical and mathematical solutions
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research while collaborating with equipment designers and hardware engineers
  • Plan, design, develop, and use electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software
  • Assess user needs and system capabilities to define program intent, outputs, inputs, programming methods, and controls
  • Create and maintain operating instructions
  • Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems when required
  • Apply and uphold software development standards
  • Support project milestones while working under general supervision
  • Help improve the software infrastructure continuously
  • Contribute to technical proposals, briefings, reports, and user manuals
  • Translate prioritized requirements from NCTE program engineering leadership into robust, maintainable JSAF capabilities with end users
  • Develop, enhance, integrate, and support JSAF features alongside developers and subject matter experts
  • Carry out primary development on Red Hat Linux 7, 8, and 9 using IntelliJ or comparable IDEs
  • Build software with Java and JavaScript frameworks, including Sencha ExtJS and Vue.js
  • Automate tasks and queries with shell scripting
  • Use Git as the primary source control system
  • Help prepare and deliver briefings, project plans, system specification manuals, technical reports, and user documentation

Requirements

  • Two years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field, no experience with a related master’s degree, or a high school diploma or equivalent with six years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain relevant technical certifications, including Security+ and Linux+
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Ability to provide on-site support as needed
  • Strong Java and object-oriented design and development skills
  • Experience developing multithreaded applications
  • Proficiency with Java IDEs such as IntelliJ and Eclipse, along with Java debugging tools
  • Experience developing in Linux or Unix environments and using shell scripting for automation
  • Proficiency with Git source control
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Experience with JavaScript and modern UI frameworks such as Sencha ExtJS and Vue.js
  • Experience with unit testing such as JUnit and Agile development practices
  • Familiarity with systems engineering and integration across LVC simulation architectures such as TENA, HLA, and DIS
  • Experience with build systems and messaging frameworks such as Gradle and Apache ActiveMQ
  • Experience with OSGi, CSS and HTML, CI/CD, and code quality tools such as Jenkins and SonarQube
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices aligned with DISA ASD STIG
  • Experience designing role- and user-based permissions
  • Database development experience
  • C or C++ experience and familiarity with C4I systems
