Site Reliability Engineer II Scottsdale Hybrid

Improve the reliability, observability, and resilience of Early Warning’s U.S. payment services. Automate operations, strengthen production systems, and support on-call incident response.

Description

  • Strengthen the reliability, resilience, scalability, and operational health of production services.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering and technology teams to build reliability, observability, recoverability, performance, and operational readiness into the full service lifecycle.
  • Apply software engineering, automation, and DevOps practices across service development, testing, deployment, monitoring, operations, and recovery.
  • Use data, experimentation, and engineering analysis to uncover reliability risks and inform technical decisions.
  • Define and refine SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and service-health metrics.
  • Enhance observability with metrics, logs, traces, monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and instrumentation.
  • Advance CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, testing, incident response, capacity management, resilience, and operational readiness.
  • Diagnose systemic production problems and improve code, architecture, automation, tooling, and engineering practices.
  • Contribute to or lead incident response, troubleshooting, service restoration, and blameless post-incident reviews.
  • Take independent shifts in the on-call rotation, diagnose and resolve incidents and service degradation, and escalate complex problems.
  • Minimize operational toil through software, automation, reusable patterns, and stronger engineering practices.
  • Build reusable solutions, share expertise, transfer knowledge, and strengthen team effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bring typically 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cloud or Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, Architecture, or a comparable technical field.
  • Have experience developing software or scripts with one or more modern programming languages.
  • Apply software engineering principles to distributed systems, production troubleshooting, automation, and observability.
  • Have experience with public cloud technologies and architectures, preferably AWS, plus infrastructure, networking, Linux or Unix, and modern application architectures.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • AWS experience is preferred; comparable experience with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is also considered.
  • Have developed, deployed, operated, or improved highly available production software or distributed systems.
  • Have experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containers or orchestration, observability, monitoring, alerting, and software-delivery automation.
  • Have worked with SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, performance analysis, capacity management, resilience testing, disaster recovery, or operational readiness.
  • Have created reusable automation, tooling, platforms, patterns, or engineering practices.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or offer equivalent practical experience.
  • Independently hold eligibility to work in the United States for any employer at the time of hire.
  • This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
