Senior Software Architect, AI-Native Telecom Systems

Lead AI-native, cloud-first architecture for Nokia’s telecom network management software. Shape multi-agent engineering, platform modernization, and autonomous network operations.

Description

  • Translate business, customer, system, and network-element needs into scalable software solutions and product architectures.
  • Define and evolve EMS architecture, covering APIs, microservices, data flows, containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift, and cloud-native deployments.
  • Lead hands-on development, prototyping, design and code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis.
  • Build multi-agent pipelines and harnesses with coordinated roles, iterative execution, context, tools, memory, orchestration, validation, recovery, observability, and human approval gates.
  • Expand AI-enabled practices across the software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and delivery.
  • Refine agent prompts, workflows, test harnesses, and validation using observed performance and failure patterns.
  • Advance modernization and engineering collaboration through Java, Spring Boot, microservices, containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Mentor teams and work with product, architecture, platform, verification, productization, and network-element stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
  • Bring at least 10 years of experience in software architecture, requirements analysis, design, development, and troubleshooting of large-scale distributed systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, APIs, CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Have hands-on experience building multi-agent solutions, agent squads or swarms, and orchestrated pipelines.
  • Understand agent harness engineering, including context management, tool integration, skills and rules, memory, planning, reviewer patterns, observability, error handling, validation, and human oversight.
  • Have integrated agentic workflows with source repositories, issue trackers, code reviews, build pipelines, test environments, knowledge bases, and engineering tools.
  • Be able to make pipelines repeatable, testable, idempotent, secure, traceable, and scalable.
  • Have experience in telecommunications OSS, EMS, or NMS; network management; element management; or a related telecom software domain.
  • Know SNMP, NETCONF/YANG, SFTP, 3GPP interfaces, REST APIs, OpenShift, Kafka, Helm, GitOps, and Kubernetes Operators.
  • Have experience with specification-driven development, RAG workflows, knowledge-base creation, automated defect triage and fixes, code migration, CI pipeline analysis, and lab-integrated testing.
  • Understand Responsible AI practices, including security, data protection, human oversight, output validation, auditability, quality controls, and safe deployment of agentic systems.
