Description
- Build, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models
- Create and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns, and related expressions
- Design and manage data models and relationships that support accurate, scalable, high-performance reporting
- Develop and refine SQL queries to extract, transform, analyze, and verify backend data
- Support ETL/ELT workflows and data transformation activities
- Integrate Power BI with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and other data platforms
- Create interactive reports and dashboards that present KPIs, trends, metrics, and business findings clearly
- Investigate and resolve data, modeling, DAX, and report-level problems
- Partner with Data Engineers, Developers, and business stakeholders to address technical issues
- Conduct functional testing and data validation for Power BI solutions
- Identify and investigate differences between source data and Power BI results
- Gather reporting requirements and convert business needs into data models, measures, dashboards, and visualizations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
- At least five years of experience in Power BI development, business intelligence, data analytics, or a comparable data-focused role
- Practical experience creating and supporting Power BI reporting solutions
- Strong ability to build Power BI reports and dashboards with visualizations, navigation, filters, drill-throughs, and interactive features
- Advanced DAX skills, including measures, calculated columns, calculated tables, time intelligence, and performance optimization
- Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming, and validating relational and cloud data
- Practical experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
- Experience designing and maintaining data models, relationships, dimensions, facts, calculated measures, and semantic models
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric
- Ability to conduct functional validation and data quality checks for Power BI reports and dashboards
- Proficiency with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
- Experience with dimensional modeling, fact and dimension tables, relationships, star schemas, and semantic models
- Ability to turn business requirements into KPIs, dashboards, reports, visualizations, and reporting solutions
- Working knowledge of validating report behavior, data accuracy, calculations, filters, and visuals
- Advanced written and spoken English
- Strong analytical thinking
- Excellent documentation skills for producing clear, reproducible test cases and bug reports
- Ability to work effectively with Data Engineers, Developers, and Product Stakeholders
- High attention to detail and strong organizational discipline, with ownership of data reliability
