Senior Payroll Analyst at Pattern Bioscience in Pune (Hybrid)

Manage outsourced payroll operations and vendor coordination for Pattern Bioscience in Pune. Oversee Indian tax deductions, statutory compliance, payroll reporting, and employee support.

Description

  • Serve as the main point of contact between Pattern Bioscience and its outsourced payroll provider
  • Review and validate payroll data covering salary changes, hires, departures, deductions, incentives, and reimbursements
  • Approve final payroll reports before payments are released
  • Coordinate accurate, on-time payroll processing and salary disbursement
  • Calculate and deduct TDS, PF, ESI, NPS, Gratuity, and Professional Tax
  • Monitor changes in payroll legislation and maintain statutory compliance
  • Manage payroll audits and inspections while coordinating with regulatory authorities
  • Maintain compliance with the Maternity Benefits Act, Payment of Wages Act, and Minimum Wages Act
  • Prepare and submit recurring PF, ESI, employee TDS, and professional tax filings
  • Resolve employee payroll questions promptly
  • Create payroll reports and analyses for finance and HR stakeholders
  • Support payroll budgeting and expense forecasting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, human resources, accounting, or a related discipline
  • At least 8 years of payroll experience
  • Minimum 5 years managing payroll for 1,000–2,000 employees
  • Previous experience with outsourced payroll operations
  • Thorough understanding of Indian payroll regulations, tax calculations, and statutory compliance
  • Experience with payroll platforms and HRMS tools
  • Strong capability in payroll processing, reconciliation, and tax deductions
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly detail-oriented, with consistent accuracy in payroll validation
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and payroll management software
  • Able to meet tight deadlines while handling confidential information with integrity
