Senior HLS Software Verification Engineer - Lunar Permanence | Blue Origin

Lead software verification and test planning for Blue Origin’s Blue Moon lunar landers. Coordinate safety-critical integration across spacecraft systems, software, and mission teams.

Description

  • Define software verification strategies and test plans with systems engineers, developers, and program managers
  • Coach team members in software verification methods and best practices
  • Partner with the Verification Responsible Engineer to establish objectives for development verification events and test cases
  • Resolve hardware-software integration issues across vehicle and mission design teams
  • Apply safety-critical software development practices to accurately document software behavior for mission safety
  • Collaborate with software engineers and other disciplines to define systems and software for Lunar programs
  • Help shape the long-term product vision and strategy for sustainable lunar missions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • At least eight years of professional experience
  • Hands-on experience creating software verification test cases, procedures, and scripts
  • Experience developing software requirements, verification plans, and test cases
  • Experience spanning systems and software disciplines, including leadership of cross-functional teams
  • Background in spacecraft design and operations
  • Experience designing fault management systems
  • Ability to build trust and sustain constructive, professional working relationships
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, current Green Card holder, or person lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Experience evaluating software architecture, designs, and source code
  • Knowledge of data budgets, command and telemetry definitions, and ground-system integration
  • Experience conducting System Safety Assessments and reviewing safety documentation
  • Experience working with Agile development practices
  • Aerospace experience involving safety-critical software or tool qualification activities
  • Experience with NPR 7150.2D
  • Programming experience with compiled languages such as C or C++
  • Scripting experience with Python or JavaScript
