Senior DevOps Manager (Hybrid)

Description

  • Manage and grow DevOps engineers supporting IDEXX’s Veterinary Software and diagnostic product groups
  • Define priorities, develop team capability, and maintain dependable operational delivery
  • Work with product engineering leaders to shape DevOps support, cloud infrastructure, release processes, and platform enhancements
  • Ensure platform capabilities support product plans and broader business objectives
  • Strengthen infrastructure security through access governance, vulnerability remediation, secure configuration, and compliance practices
  • Expand automation and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate releases, improve reliability, and increase developer and support productivity
  • Assess and implement tools and platform improvements that enhance scale, resilience, cost control, and standardization
  • Lead incident management, root-cause investigations, operational preparedness, and ongoing service improvement
  • Oversee vendor relationships and cloud expenditure
  • Maintain secure, resilient, and scalable cloud operations, infrastructure security, CI/CD, and platform engineering for customer-facing veterinary and diagnostic applications
  • Partner with leaders across Veterinary Software, diagnostics, product engineering, security, and IT

Requirements

  • Bring 7–10 or more years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, software operations, or platform engineering
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical teams
  • Experience leading DevOps engineers supporting commercial software, SaaS, or customer-facing application environments
  • Strong practical expertise with cloud platforms, particularly AWS
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and containerized or serverless operations
  • Experience integrating security, compliance, and operational resilience into infrastructure management and software delivery
  • Hands-on familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog or CloudWatch
  • Experience hiring, coaching, organizing, prioritizing, and operationally maturing DevOps or platform teams
  • Experience guiding teams through production incidents, operational reviews, root-cause analysis, and improvement programs
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Live locally within driving distance of IDEXX’s Westbrook, Maine headquarters and work onsite eight days each month, or live in New Hampshire or Massachusetts with less frequent onsite visits
  • Preferred: experience with veterinary software, healthcare, diagnostics, regulated technology, or other mission-critical products
  • Preferred: familiarity with cost management, FinOps tools, and multi-cloud environments
