Senior DevOps Engineer – HP, Fort Collins Onsite

Lead AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, and CI/CD systems supporting HP’s data science hardware and software solutions. Drive reliable cloud operations through monitoring, security, automation, and deployment excellence.

Description

  • Automate AWS build pipelines, deployments, and configuration management.
  • Maintain AWS infrastructure supporting the HP DS Stack, its applications, and the DS Platform.
  • Develop and release engineering tools for data repositories, source control, and deployment automation.
  • Apply disciplined source control, branching, build, smoke-testing, archiving, and retention practices.
  • Maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure across local, on-premises, and cloud environments.
  • Address live scaling demands and operational incidents.
  • Administer multiple environments with appropriate access controls and operating procedures.
  • Adhere to security requirements and infrastructure and product best practices.
  • Partner with developers to improve engineering practices and manage AWS hosting costs.
  • Document and formalize operational standards and best practices.
  • Maintain system and application efficiency, reliability, and availability.
  • Coordinate with management and internal stakeholders on project progress and issue resolution.
  • Represent software applications engineering in larger, more complex development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or an equivalent discipline.
  • At least five years of relevant experience as a software DevOps engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Experience deploying cloud-based services, architectures, and platforms.
  • Practical experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, IAM, Lambda, SQS, and SNS.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring or dashboarding.
  • Experience adapting existing applications for cloud environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Bash, Python 3.x, Go, Groovy, or Terraform.
  • Deep understanding of the software development life cycle, branching strategies, and source control such as GitHub.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum software development methods.
  • People leadership capabilities spanning collaboration, mentoring, technical growth, motivation, and communication.
  • Strong practical experience with AWS platform services and tooling.
  • Proven experience implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical deployment and hosting experience with Docker, Beanstalk, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience provisioning Kubernetes clusters.
  • Scripting experience with Bash, Shell, Python, Perl, PHP, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum processes and tools, including ADO, GitHub, and CI/CD.
  • Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies, including MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
  • Web hosting experience with Apache, Tomcat, or JBoss is advantageous.
