Senior Data Platform Engineer (Hybrid, New York)

Build scalable data pipelines, backend services, and databases for Noetica’s legal transaction intelligence platform. Support AI teams while meeting regulatory and data compliance requirements.

Description

  • Design and optimize pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and distributing large-scale document data
  • Develop and maintain reliable, high-performance backend services for document storage, retrieval, and processing
  • Establish data governance, privacy controls, audit trails, and regulatory compliance measures, including GDPR requirements
  • Lead database migrations while enhancing schema design, query performance, and overall data scalability
  • Collaborate with machine learning and AI teams to enable model training and inference at scale
  • Mentor engineers in platform architecture, engineering practices, and system design

Requirements

  • At least seven years of software engineering experience, including four or more years working with data platforms, backend infrastructure, or related systems
  • Strong background in distributed systems, data warehousing, or large-scale technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Snowflake
  • Proficiency in at least one systems programming language, including Python, Java, C++, or Go
  • Experience designing scalable APIs
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and query optimization
  • Experience working with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure
  • Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Background in data compliance, privacy regulations, or secure data handling
  • Experience in legal technology, financial services, or another highly regulated sector
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional initiatives and experience mentoring engineers
  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies such as Kafka or Flink
  • Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and feature engineering platforms
  • Proficiency coding in Python
