Senior Content Accessibility Lead - The College Board (Remote)

Lead accessible assessment content at The College Board, including writing, remediation, and image descriptions. Advance WCAG-compliant standards, tools, and universal design practices for accessible technology users.

Description

  • Create accessible College Board assessment content, including image descriptions
  • Review and remediate assessment materials against WCAG, Section 504, and ADA requirements
  • Resolve accessibility edge cases where existing guidance is insufficient
  • Review and remediate related materials, including research studies and scoring guidelines
  • Perform quality-control, accessibility, and usability reviews of tests and applications
  • Create reader scripts and braille transcription notes
  • Develop and maintain image-description guidance, authoring standards, documentation, presentations, and tools
  • Test applications and troubleshoot accessibility issues
  • Document workflows and identify ways to improve efficiency
  • Advocate for people who use accessible technology
  • Combine accessibility research, web standards, and user-experience findings into evidence-based recommendations
  • Represent Content Accessibility in cross-functional planning discussions
  • Teach and mentor colleagues on universal design, accessibility, and accommodations

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in accessibility or accommodations-focused work, technical writing, or assessment-content writing
  • At least 2–3 years of direct experience in accessibility or accommodations
  • Strong written communication, writing, and editing skills
  • Fluency in web-content accessibility, WCAG, ARIA, and/or universal design
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in emerging web-standards and accessibility practices
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • CPACC or WAS certification preferred
  • Ability to travel 1–2 times annually to offices in New York City or Reston, Virginia
