Senior Compliance Manager, Europe (Remote)

Lead the development of scalable compliance frameworks for DayOne’s hyperscale data center operations across the EU and EEA. Own policies, risk controls, regulatory processes, training, third-party oversight, and investigations across multiple jurisdictions.

Description

  • Develop scalable compliance policies, risk processes, and controls for operations across Europe and the European Economic Area
  • Create, implement, and monitor compliance risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures
  • Draft, maintain, and distribute compliance policies, procedures, and desk instructions for EU and EEA operations
  • Oversee gifts and hospitality, conflicts of interest, related-party transactions, personal account dealing and insider trading, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, and data privacy matters
  • Manage screening and monitoring activities in partnership with onboarding and business teams
  • Perform due diligence and ongoing monitoring of higher-risk vendors, customers, counterparties, and other third parties across EU and EEA countries
  • Conduct recurring compliance risk assessments and help drive remediation activities
  • Maintain risk assessment records, dashboards, and management reporting for governance updates
  • Monitor and communicate changes in EU, EEA, and local laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and industry expectations
  • Help business units apply core compliance requirements consistently across relevant countries
  • Create, coordinate, and deliver compliance training for employees and managers across EU and EEA countries
  • Support training and attestations covering conflicts of interest, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, whistleblowing, market conduct, and data privacy
  • Assist with investigations into compliance breaches, whistleblower reports, data privacy incidents, and related matters
  • Partner with Legal, HR, Information Security, business stakeholders, and external advisers
  • Keep complete audit trails and follow up on mitigation measures
  • Work with senior compliance and business leaders to establish policies, governance, and risk management practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business administration, finance, compliance, risk management, or a related field
  • Eight to twelve years of experience in corporate or regulatory compliance, risk management, ethics and compliance, or a related discipline
  • Experience supporting multiple jurisdictions within a multinational organization
  • Hands-on experience creating policies, conducting compliance risk assessments, and managing regulatory change
  • Knowledge of compliance risk management principles and governance frameworks
  • Ability to convert regulatory requirements into practical policies, controls, and business processes
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate compliance matters across the EU and EEA
  • Experience with risk assessments, corporate governance, regulatory change, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, conflicts of interest, whistleblowing, and third-party risk
  • Ability to manage competing priorities independently
  • Ability to explain compliance guidance clearly to senior and cross-functional stakeholders in English
  • Strong analytical, judgment, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, with discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience in a regulated sector such as financial services, insurance, fintech, payments, telecommunications, energy, or healthcare is desirable
  • Professional certification in compliance, risk management, financial crime, data privacy, or governance is desirable
  • Practical experience with GDPR and European privacy regulations is desirable
  • Experience supporting sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, whistleblowing, conflicts management, or third-party risk programs is desirable
  • Additional European language skills are desirable
