Senior Aviation Maintenance Technician

Senior aviation maintenance technician responsible for inspecting and repairing Air Methods’ Part 135 aircraft. Supports the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital partnership through compliant documentation, safety practices, and operational readiness.

Description

  • Inspect and repair aircraft and components in accordance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Confirm component and assembly part and serial numbers against relevant records after installation or removal
  • Prepare aircraft maintenance records in line with Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, procedures, and maintenance manuals
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the company’s Safety Management System and follow applicable SMS procedures
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and professional
  • Resolve compliance or safety concerns when instructed by operations, maintenance, safety, or pilot leadership
  • Notify the Pilot in Command of maintenance issues that could place an aircraft out of service
  • Review and verify aircraft Status Report information
  • Order aviation parts and supplies to support inventory levels and operational readiness
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
  • Support the hospital-based partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital
  • Travel 25–50% and provide periodic operational support

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED plus 2–5 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current FAA A&P license in good standing
  • Rotorcraft experience required; EC145 experience preferred
  • Factory airframe and powerplant school training preferred
  • Experience with FAR Part 135 operations preferred
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting and precision vibration balancing
  • Knowledge of sheet metal and composite repair procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret Form 337s, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and similar technical documents
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including overtime and a 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Ability to use electronic or paper manuals efficiently and navigate vendor data
  • Ability to learn and operate the company’s Ramco ERP system
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative, analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Willingness to undergo DOT and/or FAA drug and alcohol testing
  • Consistent attendance during scheduled working hours
  • Timely availability for on-call assignments at night, on weekends, and on holidays when needed
  • Ability to travel periodically to support Part 135 operations and company objectives
