Remote Data Analyst – Microsoft Fabric and Power BI

Build Microsoft Fabric pipelines, data models, and Power BI datasets as a Data Analyst at Sutherland. Contribute to enterprise analytics and digital transformation initiatives.

Description

  • Build data pipelines with Microsoft Fabric Data Factory.
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse solutions.
  • Implement and administer Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
  • Create scalable ETL and ELT pipelines for multi-source data ingestion and transformation.
  • Track pipeline performance and resolve data quality problems.
  • Design fact and dimension tables using dimensional modeling principles.
  • Build and maintain Star Schema and Snowflake Schema models.
  • Establish surrogate keys, business keys, and Slowly Changing Dimensions when needed.
  • Tune data models to improve reporting and analytics performance.
  • Use advanced SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
  • Develop views, stored procedures, and reusable query frameworks.
  • Optimize queries and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Create Python data transformation and validation scripts with Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, and Requests.
  • Automate data quality validation and reconciliation workflows.
  • Work with business stakeholders to define reporting and analytics needs.
  • Build datasets tailored for Power BI reporting.
  • Help define KPIs, metrics, and business data terminology.
  • Maintain data governance and consistency across analytical solutions.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence.
  • At least 2 years of practical experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to build fact tables, dimension tables, data pipelines, and Power BI datasets.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure Data Services.
  • Practical knowledge of Delta Tables and Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and Git-based development.
  • Understanding of data governance and data lineage principles.
  • Microsoft Fabric certification such as DP-600 or DP-700 is preferred.
