Description

  • Build tools and workflows for clinical genomic analysis and bioinformatics automation
  • Create web applications for exploring genomic data, including IGV-based and browser-native viewers
  • Strengthen observability, monitoring, alerting, and reliability across laboratory and bioinformatics production systems
  • Find opportunities to automate software processes and remove scalability constraints
  • Ship product enhancements independently with limited supervision
  • Diagnose complex problems spanning interconnected systems
  • Produce thoroughly tested, documented, maintainable, and reliable code
  • Use bioinformatics algorithms, statistical methods, and software engineering practices
  • Work with molecular biologists and laboratory partners on assays, workflows, and genomics applications
  • Assess genomic and operational data quality while improving consistency, traceability, and accuracy
  • Contribute to regulatory verification, validation, and documentation work
  • Balance feature delivery with operational support, incident response, and ongoing production improvements
  • Collaborate with bioinformatics R&D, clinical laboratory analysts, and data analytics teams on site-independent clinical workflow solutions

Requirements

  • Master's degree plus at least 3 years of experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Engineering; or a Ph.D.; or a bachelor's degree plus at least 6 years of relevant experience
  • At least 2 years of experience with short-read and long-read sequencing platforms, such as Illumina or PacBio
  • At least 2 years of experience applying bioinformatics algorithms to genomic data analysis
  • At least 2 years of experience with scalable bioinformatics infrastructure and workflow orchestration, including Docker, Nextflow, or GitHub Actions
  • At least 2 years of experience applying CLIA, CAP, and HIPAA requirements to clinical genomics applications
  • At least 1 year of full-stack web development experience with Django, Flask, or React
  • At least 3 years of programming experience with Python, JavaScript, or Java
  • At least 3 years of experience with UNIX/Linux command-line tools and shell scripting
  • At least 2 years of experience using SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or MongoDB
  • At least 1 year of experience with version control, testing, code review, and technical documentation
  • At least 1 year of experience with production deployment practices and tools, including Docker, CI/CD, and GitHub Actions
  • At least 1 year of experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude
  • At least 1 year of experience with interactive data visualization tools such as Plotly
  • At least 1 year of experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Grafana, Datadog, or PagerDuty
