Senior Copywriter (Temporary) - OUAI

Temporary senior copywriting role shaping OUAI’s beauty brand voice across product, retail, and digital channels. Lead global marketing storytelling during a maternity-leave coverage assignment.

Description

  • Lead OUAI’s global brand voice and develop campaign copy.
  • Write for product, marketing, brand, retail, digital, email, SMS, paid social, Amazon, and direct-to-consumer channels.
  • Serve as the internal copy specialist for global product, marketing, and brand communications.
  • Apply the brand book to external materials and ensure they consistently express OUAI’s identity.
  • Coordinate Product, Digital, and Sales stakeholders around campaign and launch messaging.
  • Develop unified copy documentation and messaging guardrails.
  • Create and maintain global master copy files.
  • Manage copy assets and keep related materials up to date.
  • Share copy guidance with internal teams and external partners when needed.
  • Prepare presentations for internal stakeholders and retailer meetings.
  • Protect OUAI’s retail brand voice through research and analysis.
  • Collaborate with the digital team on copy that strengthens messaging and supports conversion.
  • Report to the Creative Director.

Requirements

  • Consumer goods, beauty, or related-industry copywriting experience supported by work samples.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a comparable field is a plus.
  • At least 8 years of experience preferred.
  • Self-directed, articulate, creative, and highly attentive to grammar.
  • Strong interest in storytelling and building a consistent, cohesive brand voice.
  • Able to balance strategic perspective with detailed execution.
  • Experience writing product packaging, product descriptions, and brand marketing content.
  • Experience developing copy across multiple marketing platforms and understanding the channel landscape.
  • Ability to translate business priorities into compelling consumer-facing messaging.
  • Experience developing and managing projects from concept through completion.
  • Collaborative team contributor with an optimistic approach.
  • Receptive to feedback and focused on solutions.
  • Able to iterate quickly on ideas.
  • Strategic, innovative, and creative thinker who is comfortable challenging conventions.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana.
  • Comfortable working in Slack and Figma.

Benefits

  • Hourly rate of $60.00–$75.00.
