Multi-State Associate Attorney (Remote)

Remote associate attorney handling Medicaid, litigation, probate, and guardianship matters across multiple states. The role involves case strategy, legal drafting, and client representation in hearings and trials.

Description

  • Manage assigned cases independently from initial intake through final resolution
  • Shape and carry out legal strategies informed by factual investigation and legal analysis
  • Communicate substantively with courts, administrative agencies, clients, financial institutions, and opposing counsel
  • Prepare and evaluate pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments
  • Represent clients at hearings and trials when required
  • Perform the role remotely from a home office or coworking space
  • Travel as needed for hearings, proceedings, and firm events
  • Partner with experienced paralegals and centralized operations personnel
  • Contribute to onboarding, training, supervision, mentorship, and ongoing professional development

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • At least three years of substantive legal practice experience
  • Active licenses in at least two of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia; additional active licenses may also be considered
  • Strong written and spoken advocacy abilities
  • Capacity to work independently and collaborate effectively with a distributed team
  • Excellent organization, time management, and personal accountability
  • Persistent, resourceful, and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Confidence in taking ownership of results from beginning to end
  • Willingness to travel for in-person hearings, firm training and meetings, and other firm-sponsored events
  • Proficiency with Mac and Apple operating systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience using timekeeping and case management platforms
  • Proficiency with legal research tools
  • Submission of a cover letter, resume, and at least three professional references
