Medical Staff Administrative Specialist

Medical staff credentialing specialist coordinating provider records, privileging, compliance, committee support, accreditation, and collaboration with clinical partners.

Description

  • Manage end-to-end credentialing and privileging for medical staff members and advanced practice providers
  • Review applications and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and timely processing
  • Maintain secure, accurate, audit-ready records for providers
  • Verify data, resolve discrepancies, and assist with archival, reporting, and data-quality work
  • Assemble credentialing materials for Medical Staff committees
  • Record committee decisions and coordinate follow-up under Medical Staff Bylaws, policies, and governance procedures
  • Apply accreditation, regulatory, and organizational standards to credentialing and privileging processes
  • Assist with survey readiness and escalate compliance issues through established channels
  • Advise and liaise with clinical departments, Medical Staff leaders, administrative partners, regional affiliates, and external organizations on credentialing standards, processes, and agreements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • At least three years of office-environment experience is required
  • Applicants must reside in a remote-work state approved by UW Health
  • A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred
  • Experience with medical staff credentialing and accreditation is preferred
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification is preferred
  • Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification is preferred
