GM Software Engineer, Simulation (Michigan Remote)

Develop simulation platforms, cloud test pipelines, and machine-learning testing tools for autonomous vehicle systems at General Motors. Analyze simulation failures to improve model performance and vehicle safety.

Description

  • Create and maintain software for ScenarioKit, an internal test-generation platform
  • Build automated pipelines for simulation testing across local and Google Cloud infrastructure
  • Develop scripts and tools to evaluate machine-learning perception and planning systems
  • Investigate simulation failures to improve model performance and autonomous vehicle safety

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus one year of experience as a software engineer, software developer, or in a related role; or a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields plus three years of relevant experience
  • At least one year of experience using Python and C++ for software development and automation
  • At least one year of experience designing, developing, and validating simulation environments, robotics systems, or autonomous-system software
  • At least one year of experience with SQL or comparable database-querying tools and data processing in large-scale computing environments
  • At least one year of experience working with machine-learning models and computer-vision systems
  • At least one year of experience using cloud-based development environments for scalable software execution
