Senior Critical Facility Engineer – Data Center Operations

Lead the operation and maintenance of mission-critical data center infrastructure for Salute. Supervise engineering teams, coordinate 24/7 response activities, and support reliable facility operations.

Description

  • Lead, supervise, and train Critical Facility Engineers
  • Act as a recognized subject-matter expert in the assigned specialization
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and control-system maintenance and operations in line with SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs
  • Coordinate and monitor 24/7/365 activities from the Facility Operations Center
  • Dispatch peers to investigate and respond to Facility Operations Center alerts
  • Provide field support for Facility Operations Center dispatch requests
  • Supervise contractors, trade workers, and vendors
  • Conduct facility inspections
  • Contribute to root cause analyses of events, faults, and operational issues
  • Improve data center operations programs and processes through continuous improvement
  • Complete the eight-month Critical Facility Engineering certification program
  • Promote a collaborative team culture
  • Operate critical data center infrastructure 24/7/365, maintain 100% uptime, and respond to facility reliability events

Requirements

  • ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology, a journeyman or master HVAC/electrical trade license, or two years of experience in specified mission-critical engineering operations roles
  • Experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, controls, and fire suppression and alarm systems in mission-critical environments
  • Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary work environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Familiarity with NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, and IEEE standards
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
  • Basic physical fitness for emergency response
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently through varied work environments
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Clear vision, with or without corrective lenses, while wearing safety glasses
  • Ability to distinguish color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
  • Ability to work across a range of indoor temperatures
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work in elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
  • Valid driver's license for required work-related travel
