Financial Operations Analyst at Zoox (Hybrid)

Support Zoox’s autonomous-vehicle manufacturing finance through procurement compliance, manufacturing KPI management, forecasting, financial modeling, and month-end close activities.

Description

  • Analyze strategic investments, maintain short- and long-term financial models, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Accounting teams on financial planning and month-end close activities
  • Manage manufacturing KPIs covering inventory, bills of materials, and open purchase orders
  • Coordinate monthly S&OP cycles and product-costing close processes
  • Evaluate purchase requisitions for compliance with U.S. GAAP and Zoox accounting policies
  • Perform purchase-order pre-approval checks against budgets and forecasts, escalating discrepancies when identified
  • Compare forecasts with actual results during monthly and quarterly closing cycles
  • Assess agreements and contracts to determine requisition structure and coding, updating requisitions and purchase orders as policies evolve
  • Work with business owners to correct incomplete or non-compliant requisitions and explain accounting policies to requesters
  • Lead open purchase-order reviews and cleanup, including aging analysis, stale-order closure, and true-ups
  • Support month-end close by supplying purchase-order and receipt data to Accounting and identifying unreceived goods and services for accruals
  • Create and maintain cost-center trackers comparing committed spend with budget
  • Monitor compliance measures and report results to Finance leadership
  • Use SAP, Anaplan, and other reporting systems to analyze large financial datasets and deliver actionable operational insights

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a quantitative discipline preferred
  • At least two years of relevant experience in finance operations, procurement, accounting, or FP&A
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, especially expense classification and capitalization
  • Practical experience with a major ERP platform such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
  • Experience using spend-management or procurement platforms such as Coupa or Ariba
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and analysis of large datasets
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to explain accounting policies to non-finance partners
  • Careful, dependable approach with the adaptability to work in a fast-moving environment
  • Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four firm, is a bonus
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or public-company accounting environment is a bonus
  • Manufacturing or fulfillment accounting experience is a bonus
  • Experience supporting a procure-to-pay implementation or accounting-policy rollout is a bonus
