Finance Clerk, Peterborough Hybrid

Support Costain’s Anglian Water infrastructure project through SAP purchasing, supplier governance and purchase-to-pay activities. This hybrid role is based in Peterborough.

Description

  • Manage SAP purchase orders and approvals in line with supply chain procedures
  • Advise colleagues on order management and the purchase-to-pay process
  • Help the Finance Team ensure SPA Ecosystem Partners are paid on time and governance requirements are met
  • Check requisitions and purchase-order details for accuracy and completeness
  • File governance documents in PAL or NFP folders
  • Convert requisitions into purchase orders in accordance with policies, procedures and service levels
  • Send purchase orders to vendors
  • Set up new vendors and process NFP signoffs
  • Resolve invoice queries promptly and use the dispute process when needed
  • Work with the line manager to identify process improvements
  • Guide and train the purchase-to-pay community and contribute to process guides
  • Meet delivery teams’ procurement needs by sourcing quotations and raising orders on PAL
  • Use reports to improve supplier performance
  • Help integrate supply chain partners and maintain compliance
  • Help Ecosystem Managers resolve supply chain issues
  • Identify processes that could move to the material master or SAP Ariba
  • Contribute to Ecosystem Managers’ work programme, including procurement, bid analysis, tender recommendations, governance and understanding site requirements

Requirements

  • Understanding of relevant ERP systems and processes
  • Knowledge of SAP MM and SRM data elements
  • Full driving licence
  • CIPS Level 3 qualification, or willingness to work towards it (desirable)
  • SAP Ariba knowledge (desirable)
  • SAP S/4HANA knowledge (desirable)
  • Ability to maintain effective controls
  • Analytical ability
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and meet strict deadlines
  • Verbal and numerical reasoning skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong organisational skills
