Field Service Engineer, EV Charging — M4 Corridor

Maintain and repair SWARCO EV charging stations across the M4 Corridor, providing on-site and remote technical support. The role covers the UK network and includes participation in an on-call rota about one week in five.

Description

  • Service and maintain customer EV charging stations each day.
  • Find and fix electrical, hardware, software and network faults.
  • Repair equipment, replacing faulty parts and components as needed.
  • Assist with installations, commissioning, preventive maintenance, upgrades and warranty work.
  • Provide remote technical support to customers and field teams.
  • Keep service records, daily worksheets and company vehicle mileage logs accurate.
  • Track and replenish spare parts.
  • Work with technical, engineering and customer service colleagues.
  • Help deliver service and maintenance contracts within agreed response times and service levels.
  • Follow company procedures and applicable electrical and EV charging standards to carry out work safely.
  • Take part in an on-call rota approximately one week in five, running Monday to Monday.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in technical support or field service engineering.
  • A proven record of servicing, maintaining and repairing equipment.
  • Experience using a multimeter and performing continuity tests.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and confidence using tools.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Good communication skills, including explaining technical issues clearly.
  • A full UK manual driving licence.
  • The right to live and work in the UK.
  • No more than three points on your driving licence.
  • Desirable: experience in EV charging, automotive, clean energy or electrical engineering.
  • Desirable: experience with charging infrastructure or similar electrical equipment.
  • Desirable: experience providing remote technical support.
  • Desirable: experience with on-call or out-of-hours support rotas.
  • Desirable: relevant engineering qualifications or technical training.
