Development Director Contract Vancouver Hybrid

Lead Kabam’s multiplayer game project through launch on a contract basis. Oversee schedules, budgets, scope, risks, and cross-functional development teams.

Description

  • Guide a new game project through launch
  • Maintain schedules and help the team progress between development phases
  • Promote collaboration and communication across internal and partner teams
  • Manage artists, designers, engineers, QA specialists, and other production staff
  • Report to the Executive Producer
  • Keep delivery on schedule, within quality standards, and within budget
  • Sustain planning and execution momentum for a live game
  • Provide daily direction on processes and priorities
  • Work with stakeholders to maintain schedules and resource plans
  • Identify task dependencies and establish priorities
  • Track project progress, budgets, schedules, and resources while communicating changes
  • Ensure teams can access training resources and established best practices
  • Set task objectives and deliver project-level outcomes
  • Manage scope while identifying and mitigating risks
  • Work with team leads to balance scope, timelines, and quality goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or project management certification focused on Agile methods
  • At least seven years of project management experience in entertainment and/or software development
  • Experience developing mobile games
  • Working knowledge of JIRA and resource management tools for tracking, modeling, and allocation
  • Strong understanding of the games-as-a-service business model
  • Knowledge of JIRA and other project management tools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at every organizational level
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and ongoing change while setting priorities and delivering on commitments
