Data Engineer – Croatia (Remote)

Build scalable data pipelines and governed data infrastructure for Ergomed Group’s pharmaceutical research and business intelligence work. Support analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions.

Description

  • Build and optimize data pipelines that connect cloud, on-premises, and API sources
  • Prepare raw data for analytics and business intelligence
  • Automate manual data preparation with modern architectures and tools
  • Monitor performance, resolve bottlenecks, and improve workflows
  • Apply data quality checks and governance standards to protect data integrity
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to improve machine learning models
  • Help business teams access and use data effectively
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Hands-on experience managing data, including integration, modeling, optimization, and quality
  • Experience creating analytical platforms that deliver business value
  • Background working with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders on enterprise data programs
  • Understanding of data warehouses, data lakes and lakehouses, data fabric, data mesh, and MPP engines
  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Kafka, Airflow, and Spark
  • Intermediate proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
  • Experience developing data solutions for AI, machine learning, and business intelligence
  • Basic knowledge of Python, R, Databricks, TensorFlow, SAS, or comparable tools
  • Advanced problem-solving and debugging ability
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to executive, business, IT, and quantitative audiences
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to regulatory compliance
