Community Manager, Atlantic Canada – MS Canada

Lead MS Canada’s community engagement, partnerships, outreach, and regional initiatives across Atlantic Canada. Build relationships with volunteers, donors, organizations, and people affected by multiple sclerosis.

Description

  • Help deliver community strategies, regional initiatives, revenue-generation activities, and outreach plans
  • Develop partnerships and encourage collective action for people living with and affected by multiple sclerosis
  • Advance MS Canada’s regional strategy and represent Atlantic priorities in organizational planning
  • Expand and strengthen community engagement and outreach
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the region
  • Build relationships that support volunteering, fundraising, awareness, advocacy, programs, and collective action
  • Recruit, develop, and support volunteer leaders, fundraisers, donors, and community champions
  • Work with colleagues across MS Canada to build regional capacity
  • Manage relationships with community organizations, corporate partners, MS healthcare providers, and MS research centres
  • Develop opportunities that further MS Canada’s mission and community impact
  • Report to the Assistant Vice-President, Community

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Experience engaging diverse audiences and fostering meaningful connections within the MS community
  • Ability to plan and deliver community initiatives and events from initial concept through completion
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Skill in building and maintaining trusted relationships with the MS community, volunteers, partners, and supporters
  • Adaptable, organized, innovative, and results-focused approach
  • Ability to apply data and insights to decision-making and engagement planning
  • Creative, innovative experience in community building
  • Education and/or progressively responsible experience in community development, nonprofit organizations, or a related field
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the region and engage communities of varying sizes and types
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work
  • Successful completion of a background check
