Clinical Trials Scientific Affairs Supervisor, UK Remote

Lead scientific affairs for clinical trials by overseeing testing requirements, referral laboratories, pricing, and client proposal support. Manage team performance, development, and escalations for Rochester Regional Health.

Description

  • Direct departmental performance, resources, prioritization, and metrics
  • Coordinate the team's daily workload and priorities
  • Recruit, coach, train, develop, and manage the performance of direct reports
  • Act as the department's strategic contact and escalation point
  • Lead or support cross-functional process-improvement initiatives
  • Create and deliver onboarding and continuing-education plans and materials
  • Provide mentoring, feedback, coaching, and career-development planning
  • Work with HR on talent management, performance, employee relations, and development
  • Assess clinical-trial protocol testing needs and identify suitable testing facilities
  • Review and prepare pricing documents, resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain relationships with ACM and referral laboratories
  • Supply scientific and technical content for client RFPs and RFIs
  • Coordinate testing methods with referral laboratories
  • Collect and document referred-testing details and support referral-laboratory contracting during active trials
  • Facilitate information flow between Laboratory Operations and Sales
  • Escalate study, testing, and referral-laboratory issues and support root-cause analysis
  • Advance work methods, efficiency, cost reduction, and operational problem-solving
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners and join client teleconferences
  • Advise clinical-trials operations and external clients as a subject-matter expert
  • Maintain global SOPs, templates, and operational tools
  • Assess upcoming work, staffing capacity, and workload requirements
  • Complete other assigned responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field, or at least three years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
  • At least five years of laboratory experience in a clinical or other relevant regulated environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Generalist laboratory experience
  • Ability to lead and encourage others effectively
  • Positive, solutions-focused approach
  • MT (ASCP) certification preferred
  • Availability for a Monday-through-Friday daytime schedule
  • Commitment to protecting patient confidentiality and following company policies and procedures
