Description

  • Edit and maintain medical topic and lifestyle article content.
  • Manage working relationships with clinicians.
  • Respond to stakeholder requests for health content.
  • Assess evidence, data, and research to inform content decisions.
  • Write and edit health content across multiple formats.
  • Develop stakeholder relationships while prioritising user needs.
  • Apply and contribute to internal health content style and production guidance.
  • Work with health content, digital, and clinical teams.
  • Prepare briefs for multimedia content.
  • Participate in content and workflow improvement discussions.
  • Coordinate with freelance editors.
  • Obtain feedback and approval from specialist clinicians.
  • Support the planning of content reviews.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree or qualification in communications, life sciences, or a related field.
  • An understanding of agile methods and the ability to work with an agile mindset.
  • Comfort working in a fast-changing environment with an iterative and adaptable approach.
  • Proficiency with tools and platforms for planning and managing work.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence hierarchies and critical appraisal.
  • Broad familiarity with medical language and terminology.
  • Knowledge of health literacy and experience explaining medical statistics, facts, messages, and advice to consumers.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management abilities.
  • Substantial writing and editing experience.
  • The ability to write clearly in plain English and improve accessibility.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and commonly used assistive technologies.
  • The ability to use data, research, and evidence to assess and improve health content.
  • Experience applying content standards and style guidance.
  • An understanding of content lifecycle management.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • An organised, collaborative, and continuous-improvement mindset.
