Assistant Accountant – Australian Accounting (Remote, Philippines)

Support accounting operations for multiple Australian entities from a remote role in the Philippines. Manage payroll, reconciliations, invoicing, reporting, and compliance documentation with Financial Controller oversight.

Description

  • Process supplier invoices, match purchase orders, and manage related records
  • Prepare weekly payment runs and reconcile supplier statements
  • Respond to and resolve supplier enquiries
  • Process customer invoices and allocate receipts
  • Manage debtor collections, aged receivables reporting, and overdue-account escalations
  • Process payroll for multiple entities
  • Administer leave and superannuation, reconcile payroll, prepare STP submissions, and complete payroll reporting
  • Perform daily bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Allocate cash receipts and code expenses accurately
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation variances
  • Prepare month-end schedules and supporting workpapers
  • Complete bank, credit card, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, GST, intercompany, inventory, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Prepare accruals and prepayments
  • Complete month-end checklists for Financial Controller review
  • Prepare documentation for BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, WorkCover, and FBT requirements
  • Maintain the finance inbox, registers, and accounting records
  • Contribute to process improvements and finance procedure documentation
  • Keep financial records accurate, complete, and current

Requirements

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in a senior accounting, finance, or bookkeeping position
  • Advanced proficiency with Xero and Excel
  • Experience handling multi-entity accounting and foreign-currency transactions
  • Strong knowledge of Australian GST and payroll legislation
  • Demonstrated reconciliation experience with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and self-directed
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting and job costing
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple entities
  • Background supporting CFOs, Finance Managers, or Financial Controllers in fast-paced organisations
