  • Investigate and manage long-term care claims throughout their lifecycle
  • Assess coverage, liability, and compensability; gather documentation; and negotiate claim resolutions
  • Interpret complex or unusual policy provisions and escalate issues when appropriate
  • Establish claim activities and reserves and approve payments within delegated authority
  • Lead investigations and assess claims and litigation by working with insureds, claimants, partners, witnesses, and experts
  • Flag suspected fraud and refer appropriate cases to the Special Investigations Unit
  • Build and negotiate settlement packages for complex claims
  • Identify third-party recovery opportunities and coordinate subrogation and salvage efforts
  • Collaborate with attorneys, account representatives, agents, underwriters, physicians, nurse case managers, and insureds to resolve complex claims
  • Review claim activity and prepare and deliver reports for management
  • Maintain complete and accurate claim records and data
  • Support claims personnel and other functional teams with guidance and expertise
  • Monitor applicable state and territorial regulations, industry developments, issues, and trends
  • Complete special projects, presentations, and other assigned responsibilities

आवश्यकताएँ

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Typically three to five years of experience in claims
  • Strong understanding of claims operations and insurance industry principles
  • Demonstrated technical capability and knowledge of relevant products
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work independently, manage time and resources, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound independent judgment and the ability to make important business decisions
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other business software
  • Ability to understand and clearly communicate claim analyses in internal reports
  • California claims experience and certification preferred
  • Willingness to obtain certification within the first month if not already certified
