Senior Employment Legal Counsel, EMEA & APAC — PayPal, London Hybrid
Advise PayPal on employment law across EMEA and APAC, covering litigation, investigations, restructuring, compliance, and workforce risk. Partner with international business and people teams on complex legal matters.

- Deliver clear, commercially grounded legal advice that supports business objectives while controlling legal risk
- Resolve complex issues and provide expert guidance on significant matters and disputes
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Collaborate with business partners across the organisation to provide effective legal support
- Oversee legal risks and protect PayPal’s interests
- Build comprehensive frameworks for managing risk
- Escalate complex matters to senior legal leadership when appropriate
- Provide strategic employment law guidance across APAC and EMEA jurisdictions
- Track and anticipate legislative and regulatory changes
- Advise on legal exposure, mitigation plans, and compliance controls
- Lead employee litigation matters with external counsel
- Handle sensitive internal investigations
- Work with People Partners and Employee Relations on labour law, workforce consultations, works councils, and restructuring
- Support organisational transformation and restructuring initiatives
- Provide employment law training for HR, managers, and other stakeholders
- Help maintain consistent international employment legal practices and cross-border collaboration
- Proactively identify and address employment-related risk across the region
आवश्यकताएँ
- At least eight years of relevant experience and a Juris Doctor degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Admission to practice law in an APAC or EMEA jurisdiction
- Strong practical knowledge of employment and labour law
- Experience working across at least two relevant jurisdictions
- Substantial post-qualification experience, ideally eight or more years
- Demonstrated senior in-house legal experience in a multinational organisation
- Experience handling complex litigation, investigations, and workforce transformation projects
- Commercially pragmatic and focused on practical solutions
- Confidence advising senior stakeholders across multiple countries
- Excellent English drafting and communication skills
- Additional European language skills are beneficial
- Sound judgment and strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to balance legal exposure against business priorities
- Self-directed and adaptable working style
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced international environment
- Willingness to travel as needed
